This fun little snow globe is usually used to decorate for winter. This design is great for kids and this summer design variation makes it perfect all year round. Let's learn below how to transform this snow globe into a "sand globe."

Titanium White

Deep Red

Cobalt Blue

Green Oxide

Chrome Orange

Yellow Oxide

¾” Flat

No. 2 Round

No. 12 Bright

No. 8 Bright 

 

Other Social Artworking Supplies Needed:

12” x 12” Social Artworking canvas, water basin, palette, stylus or pen, grey transfer paper, Social Artworking Marker 

 

Instructions: 

STEP ONE

Follow the original instructions. 

TRANSFER PATTERN

Follow the original instructions. Add extra design elements below. 

STEP TWO

Follow the original instructions. 

REVISED STEP THREE

Use No. 8 Round Brush to mix (2) parts Green Oxide, and (8) parts Titanium White. Use mix to paint base of snow globe. Rinse Brush. 

Paint hat with mixture of (1) part Titanium White and (2) parts Green Oxide. 

REVISED STEP FOUR

Paint sand and sandcastle with mixture of (1) part Yellow Oxide and (2) parts Titanium White. Use Yellow Oxide to paint details on sandcastle and top of sand. See photo. 

REVISED STEP FIVE

Paint pail in Cobalt Blue and while still wet, mix (1) part Cobalt Blue and (1) part Titanium White to paint rim around the pail and front of pail. Let the colors blend. 

Paint beach ball in stripes of blue mixture and green mixture. Paint front plaque with blue mixture and sandcastle flag with green mixture. 

REVISED STEP SIX

Mix small amount of Titanium White in Chrome Orange. Use mixture to paint nose. 

Mix small amount of Deep Red in Titanium White. Use mixture to paint cheeks. 

Outline everything with the black paint marker. Write "Fun in the Sun" on front plaque. 

Add reflection on the globe with Titanium White. See photo.
