Switching up the color palette on Social Artworking Designs is simple and can really add to your options for parties.

This design variation is by Erica Knapp at The Pottery Nook Art Studio. You can follow them on Facebook to see all the fun things they're up to! 

Erica swapped the original color palette of the Out Shopping design for a festive holiday palette and added some white fur to the shopper's red dress. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think!

Social Artworking Colors Used:

Cobalt Blue

Deep Yellow

Green Oxide

Mars Black

Deep Red

Raw Sienna

Titanium White

Gold

Silver

 

TRANSFER PATTERN: 

Trace and transfer the original pattern onto the canvas.

STEP ONE:  

Complete as indicated on the original instructions.

REVISED STEP TWO:

Use No. 12 Bright Brush to mix 1 part Cobalt Blue with 2 parts Titanium White. Use the mix to paint the blue shopping bag. Use the same brush and Cobalt Blue to paint shading on the bag. Refer to photo. Rinse brush. Use No. 12 Bright Brush to mix 2 parts Deep Yellow with 1 part Titanium White. Use the mix to paint the yellow shopping bag. Use the same brush and Deep Yellow to shade the bag. Refer to photo. Rinse brush.  

REVISED STEP THREE:

Use the No. 12 Bright Brush to mix 2 parts Green Oxide with 1 part Titanium White. Use the mix to paint the green shopping bag. Use same brush and Green Oxide to paint shading on the bag. Refer to photo. Rinse brush.

STEP FOUR:  

Complete as indicated on the original instructions.

REVISED STEP FIVE:

Use the No. 8 Bright Brush and mix from Step One bullet one, to paint folds in the skirt. Rinse brush. Use the No. 12 Bright Brush and Deep Red to paint large areas of skirt and shoes. Use the No. 8 Bright Brush for detailed areas. May take two coats. Use the No. 2 Round Brush and Titanium White to paint highlights on the shoes, using minimal strokes. Use the No. 12 Bright Brush and Titanium White to highlight the pleats on skirt. Refer to photo. Rinse brush.

REVISED STEP SIX: 

Use the 3/4" Flat Brush to mix 2 parts Gold with a small amount of Titanium White. Use the mix to paint the gold shopping bag. Use the same brush and Gold to paint shading on the bag. Rinse brush. Use the 3/4 inch Flat Brush and Silver to paint stars on the yellow bag. Use the same brush and double load Silver and Titanium White to stipple first layer of lining at bottom of the skirt. Rinse brush. Use end of the 3/4" Flat Brush and Deep Red to add dots on green bag. Wipe off the end of the brush. Use the No. 2 Round Brush and Cobalt Blue to paint swirls on the blue bag. Rinse Brush. Use the No. 2 Round Brush to double-load Gold and White to make strings on the gold bag. Rinse brush. 

REVISED STEP SEVEN:

Use the 3/4" Flat Brush and Titanium White for the second coat of stippling of lining at bottom of the skirt. May take 3 layers.
