Add some dimension to the "Moonlight Meow" painting with cut-out paper leaves. Use any paper you have on hand to make it uniquely yours and to match the current season. The blending, abstract sunset also makes it simple to customize this piece. As an added bonus, we have a supplemental pattern to add a mouse friend to the tree branch.

Colors Needed:

  • Chrome Orange
  • Cobalt Blue
  • Deep Yellow
  • Mars Black
  • Phthalo Red
  • Titanium White

For TRANSFER PATTERN:

  • Add mouse to original pattern transfer (omitting stars) and outline along with cat and tree.

For STEP ONE:

  • Paint entire canvas Titanium White.
  • Leave small circle of white between cat and mouse as shown.
  • Around white center circle, painting in a circular motion, add Deep Yellow, then Chrome Orange, then Phthalo Red, then Cobalt Blue (in that order, from center outward) rinsing brush between each color and blending the colors where they meet. Do not over-paint, so that outline of cat, tree, and mouse can still be seen.

For STEP TWO:

  • Use Mars Black to paint mouse body along with cat and tree.

 STEP THREE (Omit)

 For STEP FOUR:

  • Omit highlights.

 For STEP FIVE:

  • Use Social Artworking Marker to paint tail on mouse along with whiskers on cat.

 To Finish:

  • Trace 1 ½” leaf shapes onto miscellaneous patterned black and white patterned paper scraps of your choice, cut out, and adhere to tree as shown with glue, decoupage, or foam dots.
