Today, we want to inspire you to think beyond paint when you are creating one of our Social Artworking designs for your home.

Mixed media versions of popular Social Artworking wall canvas designs

This variation of our Cactus Cloche made some subtle changes that created a totally different end result! A light blue is in the background but doesn't cover the whole background. A simple polka-dot stencil was done in a tone-on-tone to add visual interest and depth. The pot was changed up to give it a lacey appearance. You could even decoupage real lace along the edge. The cacti were made using scrapbook papers and adding some shading on top with darker greens and then needles with short, white brush-strokes.

By adding an Aztec-style stencil design to the background, you can easily create a lot more depth to our Wild & Free Teepee design. The top and bottom-side of the teepee is decorated in feathers and flower printed and cut-out from the internet. Going this route will drastically reduce the painting time for this design since you aren't adding all of the details of the original floral design. This is a great way to make it more tween-friendly.

Motherly Love is a great design to create with simple mixed media techniques to give to the trendy mom on Mother's Day. A crackle product was used on the tree branch to add texture and dots were added to a darker sky background. Scrapbook papers and old book pages were used to replace the parts of the birds and clouds were added. There are lots of fun details in this altered design to get your imagination running on what you can do!

We would love to see how you add your own personal touches to our Social Artworking designs whether it is through mixed media or just color swaps. Share them with us on social media!
