For cleaning your brushes, you should use warm water and mild soap. For dried on paint, try DecoArt's Brush & Stencil Cleaner. It's ideal to have on hand for cleaning your brushes and for getting paint out of clothes before it dries.

Also, whenever possible, store your brushes by hanging them bristle side down. This prevents the water from running down the brush and ruining the wood.

Never store brushes where the bristles will be pushed down onto a surface though! This will bend and damange bristles making them unusable. If you can't suspend them in some way, it is better to store them bristles up!

Have you ever wondered why brushes come in different styles? What is each good for? This video will step you through the major brush styles and tell you how to use them.
