STEP ONE

Use ¾” Flat Brush to mix (1) part Cobalt Blue, (1) part Green Oxide, and (4) parts Titanium White. Use mix to paint background. (Use No. 2 Round Brush for smaller areas if needed.) Rinse Brush.

Add Titanium White to previous mix and paint halo around owl. Let dry briefly. Save some of this mixture.

STEP TWO

Use No. 12 Bright Brush and (1) part Chrome Yellow and (2) parts Titanium White to blend out, adding more Titanium White as you blend out. You can use saved mixture from STEP ONE to blend back in.

STEP THREE

Use No. 8 Bright Brush to mix (1) part Phthalo Green and (3) parts Cobalt Blue to paint branches and swirls.

STEP FOUR

Use No. 8 Bright Brush and Deep Red to paint heart and beak. Let dry briefly, then add second coat to left side of heart and beak to shade.

Paint 3rd layer (bottom petals) of all flowers.

Paint soft outline on the owl. Rinse Brush.

STEP FIVE

Use No. 8 Bright Brush and Phthalo Red to paint the 1st layer (top petals) of flowers and highlights on owl and heart.

STEP SIX

Use No. 8 Bright Brush and mix (1) part Green Oxide and (1) part Chrome Yellow. Use mix to paint leaves, outer ring of eyes, and feet.

Add (1) part Titanium White and (1) part Chrome Yellow to this mixture and add highlights to the leaves, feet, 2nd ring around the eyes, and center of the flowers.

STEP SEVEN
