EMBELLISHING WITH FABRIC CIRCLES
Use the Cricut Maker with the rotary blade tool to cut fabric circles in the same sizes as the flowers on the original pattern. You may also want to cut out some smaller circles to add to the center of the larger circles. Using a variety of patterns and fabrics adds additional interest and texture to your piece. Select fabrics that coordinate with your painted canvas for a cohesive look and feel.

It's recommended that you use the new pink fabric cutting mat. Unfortunately, we misplaced ours. Oops! To remedy this, we coated the fabric with Americana Decou-Page and allowed it to dry completely. With this stiffened fabric, the purple strong grip mat worked well for cutting with the rotary blade.

Note: Another bonus to using the Americana Decou-Page is that it keeps the fabric from fraying!

Once you have a selection of fabric circles to choose from, the fun begins. Lay them out on your canvas and have a go at layering different colors and patterns. Once you're happy with the placement, simply adhere the fabric circles to the canvas, and to each other, using more Americana Decou-Page. You could also use a hot glue gun or Pop-Up Glue Dots for added dimension.
