Deep Yellow                           0.5 oz.

Phthalo Red                           0.3 oz.

Neon Pink                              0.3 oz.

Neon Yellow                          0.5 oz.  

Titanium White                      1.0 oz.

Other Social Artworking Supplies Needed:

16” x 20” Social Artworking canvas, water basin, palette, stylus or pen, grey transfer paper.

TRANSFER PATTERN

  • Trace and transfer pattern onto painted canvas. Refer to methodology for detailed instructions.

 STEP ONE

  • Use No. 12 Bright Brush to mix (3) parts Titanium White with small amounts of Phthalo Red and Neon Pink. Use mix to paint striped background. Rinse brush.

STEP TWO

  • Use No. 6 Bright Brush to mix (2) parts Deep Yellow, (1) part Neon Yellow, and small amount of Titanium White. Use mix to paint lemon rind, using brush width as guide. Rinse brush.
  • Use No. 12 Bright Brush to mix (2) parts Deep Yellow, (2) parts Neon Yellow, and (2) parts Titanium White. Use mix to paint lemon segments, painting loosely and leaving visible brush-strokes radiating from center. Refer to photo. Rinse brush.  

 

STEP THREE

  • Use No. 12 Bright Brush and Neon Yellow and Deep Yellow, separately, to paint lemon pulp, using short, loose strokes. Do not rinse brush between colors. Paint higher concentration of dark pulp near center and segment edges. Refer to photo. Rinse brush.
  • Use No. 6 Bright Brush to mix (4) parts Titanium White with small amount of Deep Yellow. Use mix to paint orange segment walls and inner rind. Refer to photo. Rinse brush.

 

STEP FOUR

  • Repeat STEP THREE for lower left lemon. Rinse brushes.

 

STEP FIVE

  • Use No. 6 Bright Brush to mix (3) parts Neon Pink, (1) part Phthalo Red, and small amount of Titanium White. Use mix to paint pink lemon rind, using brush width as guide. Rinse brush.
  • Use No. 12 Bright Brush to mix (4) parts Neon Pink, (1) part Phthalo Red, and (1) part Titanium White. Use mix to paint pink lemon segments, painting loosely and leaving visible brush-strokes radiating from center. Refer to photo. Rinse brush.
  • Use No. 12 Bright Brush to paint pink lemon pulp, using short, loose strokes, separately, in Neon Pink and Phthalo Red. Do not rinse brush between colors. Paint higher concentration of dark pulp near center and segment edges. Refer to photo. Rinse brush.
  • Use No. 6 Bright Brush to mix (4) parts Titanium White with small amount of Chrome Yellow. Use mix to paint lime segment walls and inner rind. Refer to photo. Rinse brush.

 

STEP SIX

  • Use No. 2 Round Brush to paint circles of dark shade (in Deep Yellow for yellow lemons and Phthalo Red for pink lemon), blending inward from top of droplet. Do all circles of one color at once, varying size. Rinse brush in between colors and at end.
  • Use No. 2 Round Brush and Titanium White to paint bottom of droplet, blending slightly. Do this to all droplets at once. Save brush.
  • Use No. 2 Round Brush and Titanium White to highlight droplet. Refer to photo. Do all droplet highlights at once. Rinse brush.
